Why Visit Kerala?

Kerala's circuits are usually built around a handful of regions: Munnar, a hill station known for its rolling tea plantations and cooler climate; Thekkady, home to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and spice plantations; Alleppey (Alappuzha), the base for houseboat cruises through Kerala's famous backwaters; Kochi (Cochin), a historic port city with Chinese fishing nets and colonial-era Fort Kochi; and Kovalam, a beach town near Thiruvananthapuram. Most Ghumega India itineraries combine three to five of these depending on trip length.

Best Time to Visit Kerala

September–March is the most popular window — cooler, drier weather that suits both the hills and the backwaters. April–May is hot and humid. June–August is the southwest monsoon — Kerala turns especially lush and green, and this period is also traditionally considered ideal for Ayurvedic treatments, as the cooler, moisture-rich air is said to help the body absorb therapies better.

How Many Days Are Enough?

A short Munnar-or-Alleppey-only trip works in 2–3 nights. A well-rounded circuit covering Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey needs 4–5 nights. The full week-long itineraries below add Kochi and Kovalam for a complete 6–7 night God's Own Country tour.

How to Reach Kerala

Kochi (Cochin) International Airport is Kerala's main gateway with the widest connectivity, including direct international flights. Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and Calicut (Kozhikode) airports also serve the south and north of the state respectively. By rail, Kerala's coastal towns are well connected to major Indian cities via the Konkan and southern railway networks.

Kerala Trip FAQs

Is a houseboat stay included in the backwaters packages?
It depends on the specific itinerary. Confirm with your travel expert whether an Alleppey houseboat night is included or available as an add-on for your dates.
Which airport should I fly into?
Kochi (Cochin) International Airport has the widest connectivity and is the most common entry point for Kerala circuits; Trivandrum works well for itineraries ending near Kovalam.
Is Kerala worth visiting in the monsoon?
Yes — the June–August monsoon is lush and considered a good time for Ayurvedic treatments, though outdoor sightseeing may need more flexibility.
Can Ayurvedic treatments be added to a regular sightseeing package?
The Kerala Rejuvenating Tour above is built specifically around Ayurveda; ask your travel expert about adding shorter treatment sessions to any other itinerary.
How do I book or ask for a custom itinerary?
WhatsApp or call 09711 866 323, or use the Contact Us form — a travel expert will confirm dates, pricing and any customisation.
