Mount Abu is Rajasthan's only hill station, set in the Aravalli range at a cooler elevation than the rest of the state. It's known for Nakki Lake, a boating lake at the centre of town; the Dilwara Temples, a group of Jain temples known for their intricate marble carving; and Guru Shikhar, the Aravalli range's highest point. Its short distance from Rajasthan's desert cities makes it a popular weekend hill escape.
October–March is the most comfortable window. April–June is warmer but still cooler than the Rajasthan plains below, which is part of Mount Abu's appeal in summer. July–September is monsoon season, when the hills turn green.
